No more "lost" pedophiles - with a cost effective solution

It's common knowledge that police are generally only able to find a percentage of an area's pedophiles to question when a child goes missing. The manpower and lost time is very costly when trying to locate them. To make location instantaneous is very possible, cost-effective, and could also prevent recidivism and protect children from future victimization. A list of an areas known pedophiles along with their current location ...more »

counterintelligence program

If we are serious about having a full, robust program of counterintelligence (not just counterespionage), it seems to me we need an agency or at least a division or branch devoted to countering intelligence threats. To do this, some basic elements would have to unite the following in one place: 1) True expertise on opposing intelligence institutions. For each institution, nation, or transnational group that is or could ...more »

National Crime GIS/Database

I would like to see a national Crime GIS database. A national database, similar to the Uniform Crime Reports but in a real time GIS accessible system. Police departments around the country would enter criminal activity of the day into the system. And residents could access that information via a web portal and see where, when and what crimes were taking place. This would be different from the UCR in that not convictions ...more »

A HUGE Need for a better monitoring of sex offenders

We need one huge database that actually monitors ALL sex offenders in the nation. The DOJ national website is ok but does not update the site frequently enough. Nor do the states monitor the offenders closely. There needs to be more of a commitment towards keeping these perverts away from our children and loved ones!!!! We have been trying to track some of these creeps and we have been tracking from one state to the other ...more »

ARRA Reporting requirements

The reporting requirements under the ARRA are cumbersome. I understand the need, but it would be so much easier for the person responsible for completing the periodic reports if they were to be found in one place, instead of going to one site for the PMT, one for the 425 and one for the 1512 c. When you have more than one ARRA grant award it is difficult to remember what report is required, where to go to complete the ...more »

Innovate for Justice / Close Loopholes

Proposal to Close Loopholes Create a new area or program or department that will do nothing more than work toward refining law so that it actually works in a way that protects the victim and prosecutes the offender. Currently, the whistle blower laws are not being enforced effectively. Currently, organized stalkers, pedophiles and human traffickers operate in such a way that behind fake immunity, fake diplomatic gratuity ...more »

General Amnesty through Presidential Pardons

A lot of money could be saved by allowing all but the worst and career criminals get a fresh start. A lot of new tax revenue could be raised by the new tax payers joining the work force. How about pardons for particpation in civil works programs?

OpenDOJ v2.0: A Next Gen Opensource/OpenSocial Portal

A pilot project to build a next-gen DOJ portal for the Federal Community Cloud. The idea is to build a suite of opensocial portals, one at each Federal Agency, based on The Open Stack that will enable communication with all opensocial partners.

Make it easier to access previously FOIAed documents

It'd be a lot easier to get information from DOJ if we didn't have to ask for a new FOIA every time. I mean, if someone has already asked for something from you guys once, should I really have to ask for it again? Not to mention, expecting expensive government employees to do the whole thing over again.
