Working Together: Governments, Businesses, Non-Profits...

Use free, open source software -- and make it public.

Whenever you pay to have someone provide you an IT solution, insist that you get the source under a "free" license. Then publish that source code. It not only helps the public; it helps you.

Allow use of social media

DOJ agencies should adopt use of social media tools, such as Twitter, as a means to outreach, get information out about what they are doing, and engage in dialogue with the public.

CUSTODY VISITATION - ADDITIONAL GOVT. INTERVENTION NECESSARY

To: The American People and President Obama We, as Citizens, tend to believe that the recent Father/Son Goldman U.S.-Brazil Custody Battle only happens between residents of the U.S. and someone from another country. Unfortunately, that is simply NOT true! Most American Citizens need to realize that "denial of visitation" by one parent towards their child(ren)'s other parent despite a legal custody decree/order issued ...more »

DOJ Legislative Histories

The DOJ Library has digitized important collections of legislative histories that had been compiled by various offices and entities across the agency. They have been available only through the agency intranet, and yet they are of great public interest. These legislative histories should all be accessible, in an easily searchable database, on the agency Web site.

Other OpenGov Ideas & Information Resources

Rather than post each of my "OpenGov" Ideas at 27 different websites, I have posted them at the GSA's website (since they are in the forefront of the OpenGov initiative). So, by this notice, the members of the OpenGov Team for this agency have been informed of those ideas. (At least, now, you can't say you were unaware of them.) http://opengsa.ideascale.com/a/pmd/29640-6960 ALSO -- Those OpenGov Team members, ...more »

I hope this site is a new begining for the DOJ.

Your agency is totally secretive, I myself have gotten the runaround on two FOIA requests.

Is this the begining of new day at the DOJ? Are you going to clean up the widespread corruption in the federal criminal justice system in NYC?

That would be a great place to start.

The General Public's Right to Expose Corrupt Public Servants

Large-Scale Fraud Alleged in PACER & CM/ECF

Allowing more free access to false US court records is not necessarily an improvement. Los Angeles, March 17 - in response to March 17, 2010 article by Tony Mauro in The National Law Journal titled: “Judicial Conference Moves Federal Courts Toward More Public Access”,[1] Dr Joseph Zernik, Los Angeles Resident, posted a comment, alleging large scale fraud on the people in the implementation of PACER and CM/ECF at the ...more »

Develop an OpenDOJ Social Strategy

Disruptive Technologies: A Holistic, Pragmatic Approach New technologies are emerging at a faster pace than Agencies can swallow. The rate of obsolescence outpaces the pace of change. Despite the new technology flood, Agencies lack a strategy to on-board these disruptions. As a result, they often react, flounder, or simply ignore them. We can solve these problems in four major areas of practice: Leadership ...more »

Organized stalking

Over 7 years ago, I became aware that I was being stalked, not by one person, but many different unfamiliar people. It started out with one or more people coming near me and speaking to someone on their cell informing them of what I was doing and wearing. If I was going somewhere at any distance, a vehicle would come out of no where, ride up to my bumper and back off, as to see if I was alone. I had to leave my job ...more »

Separation of Commerce and State

Now that the Supreme Court has granted citizenship to corporations, now that Exon is a person and AIG is a person and Citibank is a person and Haliburton is a person, what is the point of me donating money to my Party anymore? If Exon could have financed both sides in the 2008 election with only 2% of profits, the Supreme Court has effectively nullified my tiny voice. The Government and Corporations have always worked ...more »
